I think this is a SWOS old issue. Is it possible by configuring the game to prevent the players to lose the ball when changing direction? Perhaps there is some tweak available or you must change the source code to achieve this?

I believe this is the original difficulty on the original Sensible Soccer in the Amiga. It'd be nice to have a difficulty selector, though.
